ANNUAL BHAGAVAD GITA CHANTING COMPETITION, 6TH YEAR
September 27, Saturday, 10:00 a.m.
Venue: Saraswathi Nilayam of HTCT.

Dear Devotees,
Due to the multiple levels of competition and the logistics involved, we have decided to change from biannual competition to annual competition. This is the 6th consecutive year. All devotees are invited to come and listen to the sweet recitation by the children and encourage them.

All registrants are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes early (so that we can start on time) and stay till the end of the competition.

In lieu of trophies, gift certificates will be issued to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.

The competition will be followed by lunch.

Registration Fee: $15.00 first child, 10 for each additional child from the same family

VERSES FOR RECITIATION: CHAPTER 2, VERSES 47-72

Grouping is as follows:
Pre-Kg & Kg - 7 verses (47-63)
1st, 2nd & 3rd Gr. - 10 verses (47-56)
4th & 5th Gr. - 15 verses (47-61)
Middle School - 20 verses (47-66)
High School - 26 verses (47-72)
Adult participation (adults also chant to compete for accolades!) - all 26 verses - encouraged.

All the participants and audience including the judges together will chant all the 26 verses to conclude the event.

Please note: the concluding verse of every chapter, “ iti srimadbhagavadgitasupanishatsu…….” Should be chanted only by High school students and adults as the concludig verses are not chanted by others.
